Application : Marking of pharmaceutical carton boxes
Objective: Reach a high rate of production including a labelling station and high information markings on the top and the bottom of the boxes
Marking type : color change – 2D Datamatrix codes & Alphanumeric characters
Our customer's objective was to increase the output of semi-automated packaging lines. Our solution consisted in supplying laser marking machines with the following functionalities:
- Automatic feeding & conveying of carton boxes
- Pharmacode reader
- Labelling station
- Laser Marking station
- Vision Station : 100% quality control (Dmx codes grading, OCV)
- Output station
The laser beam interacts with a pre-print coating on carton boxes and results in a highly contrasted marking. The production rate of 30 boxes per minute has been reached successfully, keeping a high definition marking.
The flexibility of the laser process makes it possible to mark the following codes with the same equipment:
- Pharmacode
- RSS 14 stacked composite
- DM ECC 200
- Alphanumeric OCR B
The change between 2 types of codes is as simple as loading a file on the control software.
